Senior Citizens' Drumming Session

There was a group of Senior Citizens participating in this Drumming Training Workshop, which was mainly organised by the Clementi Zone 2 RC, SCEC and the National Art Council.

There were about 35 Senior Citizens taking part. The final workshop will be on the 11 October 2008,held at Kallang CC. Yes! Our daddy, mummy, ah gong and ah ma are performing to the public!

So, as for the past few Saturdays, they had been practising from 1pm to 3pm conducted at Clementi CC, Seminar room. And I went down to catch their
last preparation before their performance.. and it was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!

As I was walking to the Seminar room, a few residents asked me what was held inside the room, the music was nice-hearing which attracted them to stop and listened for it. ( Just a little pity that they couldn't enter the room, so they just stood outside and listened. )

Everyone uses different instruments to play out the music. The coordination was just too perfect. The teacher is a very humorous person! I guess having his class is always fun! He is a non-Chinese, but he can speaks hokkien! Making the Senior Citizens laugh and laugh. I can felt that they were all enjoying themselves! ( Even I myself was enjoying too!)

The teacher gave the students opporunities to take turns to led the rest. I believe this is to build up their courage facing the public and give them more confidence! Students must follow the leader's intructions to produce the same tempo using their own intruments.

I am sure that the Senior Citizens are happy to attend this drumming workshop. They can make friends around and meanwhile learning new things!

Sungei Pandan Foot Bridge

Yes! Today I would like to share with you something about this foot bridge! (:

This Covered linkway (also called Sungei Pandan Foot Bridge) was offically opened on 19 October 2003 by Dr Vivian Balakrishnan & Mr Arthur Fong who were the MPs for Holland-Bukit Panjang GRC and West Coast GRC respectively.

It is located near Clementi Ave 4; Clementi Neighbourhood Park.



This is actually a short cut to the Sunset Way. In Sunset Way, you can find many eateries and pubs over there! This is definitely a good chill-out place after work! The once quiet HDB of Sunset Way is fast emerging as a dining hotspot!

So, get some time to go down with your friends or family!

And! I mentioned earlier on that the foot bridge is also somewhere located near the Clementi Neighbourood Park. It would be nice to talk a small jog every morning or evening. The atmosphere here is pretty good and relaxing.

Health and Fitness Club in Clementi CC

Do you miss the time when you perspire and feel the whole body heating up? This might be tiring after exercising but eventually you will still feel refreshing and energetic, YEA?

Although exercise isn't the only way to live better but having more energy, being stronger, feeling fitter and looking trimmer is also a pretty good start!

Maybe due to your heavy work load that you couldn't find time to get exercise, but don't worry! Give me an opportunity to introduce you this marvelous DIY health and fitness club!









It is located at Clementi CC, second floor (just next to eclub).

It is open DAILY from 9am to 930pm, except for Public Holiday. Users can use the facilities anytime on the mentioned time they want! And this is a DIY club! Users only need to sign up at the General Office to get the key to open the room! And. You are all to yourself! You can turn on your favourite fm and enjoy your keeping fit session!



Isn't it COOL enough? heh!



Nevertheless, users are responsible for any injury or loss of life which may be sustained during the acitivies or arising from any cause in connection with the club's activites where such injury or loss of life is not caused by the negligence or wilful act or omission of the organiser. Always be careful! Always have a good warm up!

But before you enjoy the facilities, you must first register as a member!

Others (GRLs) - $25

The above charges are based on annual subscription.

All users must be dressed in appropriate gymnasium attire. (i.e T-shirts, shorts or track suits and non-marked rubbersole shoes without heels.)

So, even if you are busy on weekdays, you can still take a short period visiting the fitness club! Be it on a sunday morning or a weekday evening! Give yourself some time to relax, release stress and meanwhile keeping fit! And maintain your good body shape! (;

New Facilities in Clementi CC

Hi there!

Have you been visiting Clementi CC recently?

There are two new added machines, which I found it very useful! Thumbs up!

One is the movie rental machine, Cinenow.




Cinenow is a fully automated machine which allows us to rent or return movies 24hrs a day, anytime we want! Let's know more about this VCD and DVD rental heaven!

To use this machine, first you have to sign up as a member! A $10 charge. (A member card will be issued, the vaules in it is use to rent the movies.) IC will be needed for the signup.

There will be a staff to assist customers on every mon, wed, fri (6-9pm) and weekends(3-9pm). To sign up for new member please come during the above mentioned time.



CineNow are the largest and highest capacity machines in Singapore offering more choice than any other movie rental machine. Their movies are updated on a weekly basis, if not more often! So be it the movie you had missed a couple of weeks ago in cinema, you can always have it with Cinenow! They have the lastest movies!

The charges are reasonable too!

Finger print verification is needed when loging in!

And there's more! The coin deposit machine!



How cool can it be?! You can just put in all the coins and the machine will do the counting! A receipt will be issued after that.





But the minimum deposit per transaction is $50.00 and no immediate cash payment will be made for all coin deposits. Payment will be made directly into your account.

PC Repair Service @ Clementi eClub

Are you troubled over faulty computers and have no idea where to bring it for repair?

And yes! There is a group of friendly people who can solve your problem right now!!



On every Saturday, except for Public Holidays, there will be a group of people from ITE College West to be down at Clementi eClub. They are here to provide the PC repair service for the residents from 2pm to 8pm. They are called the ''PC Clinic".





It is located at Clementi Community Centre - 220 Clementi Avenue 4 Level 2, Clementi eClub. Computers can be brought in during the eClub opening hours.

Monday to Sunday: 10am to 930 pm ( except Public Holidays )

But it is advisable to come down personally to tell the PC clinic what's wrong with the computers.

Computers/ Laptops will be keep in a safe and secure place.

It is only necessary to bring down the CPU of the faulty computer for repairing.

PC clinic will give a detailed check on the faulty computer. They will handle every computer with care. For all diagnostic check, it will be free of charge.

Laptop services are also available here. PC clinic will explain to you what is the fault after checking. Labour charge- $15. (excluding parts) It is valid only when repair work is conducted.
